Three people injured in shooting at 2nd, High Streets in Elkhart
The Elkhart Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that left three men injured near West High Street.
Authorities say just after 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, dispatchers received reports of a shooting near the area of South 2nd Street and West High Street. Officers arrived and found a male victim outside with an apparent gunshot wound. He was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital for further care.
While police were responding, two additional male victims with gunshot wounds arrived at the hospital on their own. Their conditions were not immediately released, but officials say all three are being treated.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages and no arrests have been made. The case remains active.
