Hot, humid conditions continue before severe storm front tonight
Residents can expect another hot and humid day on Thursday, with conditions similar to Wednesday. High temperatures are forecast to reach around 88 degrees, but elevated humidity levels will make it feel more like the middle to upper 90s.
Forecasters are also monitoring the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms late Thursday night as a cold front moves through the region. The greatest threat is expected between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Damaging straight-line winds are the primary concern, although isolated tornadoes and large hail cannot be ruled out.
The arrival of the cold front will bring a noticeable drop in both temperatures and humidity heading into the weekend.
Friday may begin with a slight chance of rain, but skies are expected to clear as the day progresses, with sunny conditions and highs near 80 degrees.
The pleasant weather is expected to continue through the weekend. Saturday will be sunny with temperatures in the low 80s, while even cooler air arrives Sunday, when highs are forecast to remain in the 70s.
