Cook Plant once again sponsoring lake buoy this summer
The Cook Nuclear Power Plant weather buoy is back on the job in Lake Michigan.
The buoy will report conditions on the lake again this summer, sponsored again by the Cook Plant, which has supported its efforts for more than a decade.
WSJM reports that the buoy offers live readings of lake conditions about a half-mile from the shoreline beside the plant, with updates every ten minutes or so. Its data is made available to anyone during the boating season. This year, however, the video component of the buoy is not expected to be functional.
