Attempted murder, standoff suspect convicted on all counts
A jury has convicted Chad Bean on all 14 charges stemming from a hostage standoff in Mishawaka last December.
The convictions include six counts of attempted murder, five counts of criminal confinement, two stalking charges and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
Prosecutors say Bean held five people hostage during an hours-long standoff at a home on Conner Drive and fired 15 shots at police. Officers returned fire.
Bean will be sentenced September 21st. Each attempted murder conviction carries a possible sentence of 20 to 40 years.
