Multiple people were injured in a shooting near Eddy Street Commons in South Bend.

Police were called to the area of Eddy Street and Angela Boulevard shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, after receiving reports of gunfire.

Officers arriving at the scene found multiple people suffering from injuries. Police said the victims had varying degrees of injury, but officials have not released the number of people hurt or details about their conditions.

Several people were detained as part of the investigation. Police said it remains unclear what involvement, if any, those individuals had in the shooting.

Investigators have not released information about what may have led to the gunfire.
