Arrest made after crash involving buggy injures four in Kosciusko County
A Goshen woman could face Operating While Intoxicated charges following a crash involving a horse-drawn buggy that injured four people, including a 25-day-old infant.
The crash happened Friday, May 29, on State Road 19 in Kosciusko County. Investigators say 24-year-old Jakaila Miracle was driving southbound when her vehicle struck the rear left side of the buggy.
Four occupants of the buggy required medical treatment, including the driver, two passengers who were ejected, and a 25-day-old baby. The infant was flown by medical helicopter to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Authorities have not released the extent of the victims’ injuries.
Investigators later located Miracle near N. 350 West and U.S. 30. According to the crash report, alcohol is believed to have been a factor. The incident remains under investigation as a possible Operating While Intoxicated case.
