Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead inside a sand-filled semi-truck.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 27, to the 16000 block of County Road 18 for a report of a person trapped in the back of a semi loaded with sand.

When deputies and EMS arrived, they found 36-year-old John Chupp deceased.

Officials say the investigation remains ongoing. Additional details have not yet been released.
